Effective, lasting relief for neck pain
Stiff and painful neck? Do your neck muscles feel "crunchy"? Sore shoulders?
Our daily lives are full of sources of pain for our cervical spine: bad posture in front of screens but also when reading, bad work or even relaxation positions (sofa too deep), stress...
Is there an effective way, backed by health professionals, to relieve pain and tension?
Carried out using a firm cervical decompression cushion, it consists of stretching the cervical discs to :
1) relieve the harmful effects of prolonged bad posture, such as muscular contractures
2) regain physiological (natural) posture, the key to lasting pain relief.
With cervical decompression, neck support, you don't just relieve the symptoms, you also correct the cause!
Cervical decompression (or traction) cushion: how does it work?
The cervical decompression cushion is a firm, curved cushion that stretches your neck by tilting your head back.
The firmness of the cushion is essential for effective stretching of the cervical discs, but also for supporting your head.
It's very easy to use: just lie down on it and let it do its work!
Your head will then naturally tilt backwards, still resting on the cushion: it's the device that will be working, not you.
By relaxing your cervical muscles and tensions, the heating function of the cushion gently assists you in the practice of cervical decompression...
Climsom Flex heated cervical traction cushion
Unlike other devices on the market, the Climsom Flex cervical traction cushion is covered by an integral heated cover.
This is a significant improvement in comfort, as it prevents your neck from coming into contact with the cold synthetic material of other cervical traction cushions on the market. Other devices include a thin heating strip, but without any real integration with the device.
If necessary, you can remove the covers from the cervical decompression cushion.
We still recommend that you keep the cover on even if you don't switch on your Climsom Flex, for a softer, room-temperature feel.
To guarantee the safety and effectiveness of this device, François Stévignon, a physiotherapist for over 30 years, qualified in osteopathy and vertebrotherapy and author of the method "En finir avec le mal de dos" (Putting an end to back pain), has tested the Climsom Flex cervical decompression cushion.
He tells you all about it...
"With over 30 years' professional experience, I have seen the harmful effects of musculoskeletal disorders in my patients, often caused by a failure to respect the physiological curvatures of the lumbar and cervical lordosis.
Seemingly harmless habits, such as the increasing use of screens, reading or deep sofas, can upset these curves and cause unbearable pain.
That's where this cervical traction device comes in. By encouraging a return to a physiological cervical lordosis, it decompresses the vertebrae, relieving the cervical discs and the nervous system, putting an end to local and off-set pain.
It also helps to raise awareness (proprioception) of the importance of good cervical curvature, for optimal posture in all circumstances.
The effectiveness of this neck support is enhanced by its heating function.
As well as making the 10 minutes of practice even more comfortable and enjoyable, the heat helps to deeply relax and release the tense muscles in the neck, eliminating pain, tension and reflex contractures.
This perfect synergy results in a freed neck, once again capable of healthy, aesthetically pleasing postures.
All in all, I highly recommend this cervical decompression device for as long as your pain persists or whenever you feel the need or desire.
It's an effective and pleasant solution for relieving pain and encouraging an average, healthy and physiological posture for a more comfortable and fulfilling life."
Posture and heat: the right combination to relieve neck pain
Think of Climsom Flex as your home chiropractor, available whenever you need it!
By combining cervical decompression and gentle heat, the Climsom Flex heated cervical traction pillow will:
- Promoting a return to physiological cervical lordosis, the natural posture of your upper spine (see diagram opposite).
By adopting the wrong posture, particularly with the head forward, this lordosis is not respected and the nerves find themselves pinched between the vertebral discs. The result is pain and contractures... and an unattractive head carriage.
- Relieve reflex muscle contractures generated by the body to immobilise the cervical vertebrae and protect them from bad posture.
You've probably already had a bad experience of these reflex contractures, when you fall asleep with your head forward or on your side in public transport, for example. No pain at the time, but waking up is more complicated!
It's really when you lift your head that the neck pain shows itself, sometimes to the point of torticollis (wryneck)!
- Relieve spinal discs and the nervous system by decompressing the neck, thus relieving occasional neck pain and chronic neck pain.
- Relax tense neck muscles with gentle heat generated by the cover will spread along the back of your neck, relieving pain and tension in the cervical spine and adjacent areas, such as headaches or tense trapezius muscles.
Applying heat will also boost blood flow, enabling toxins to be eliminated and nutrients to be supplied more efficiently. This exchange will also promote tissue healing.
- Relieve migraines and headaches
Cervical tension or poor posture can be the cause of a recurring headache.
By releasing these tensions and returning to a physiological posture, you can eliminate the sources of migraine.
- Release stress-related muscle tension.
Stress can lead to a wide range of upper-body aches and pains: a stiff neck, a blocked neck, a headache, tense shoulder muscles and so on. It can also trigger bad posture: the head lowered into the shoulders, for example, but also compensatory analgesic postures in which we feel less pain in the short term, but which lead us into a vicious circle in the medium term.
Cervical decompression reverses this process in a virtuous circle: by eliminating stress-related pain, you reduce stress itself.
Indeed, these tension pains can themselves be a source of annoyance and additional exhaustion, feeding the stress.
In just a few minutes, the cervical traction cushion offers you an anti-stress relaxation session from both a musculoskeletal and psychological point of view.
- Correcting bumps in the cervical region.
With prolonged bad posture, you may notice the appearance of a hump in the back of your neck, a sign that your cervical vertebrae are no longer following their physiological lordosis.
It can also be a buffalo hump, a fatty mass that forms at the top of the back, between the shoulders.
These annoying and painful lumps can be relieved and corrected by cervical decompression.
The Climsom Flex heated cervical decompression cushion comes with instructions for use in French and English.
You'll find instructions on how to use the cushion and its heated cover, as well as a link to more advice and videos to help you practise cervical decompression.
Practice of cervical decompression :
- Place the cervical heating pad on a firm, flat surface (such as a carpet).
- Lie down on your back in front of the cervical cushion, knees bent and first on your elbows, then let yourself slide until you place your neck in the curved part of the cushion.
You can stretch your arms out alongside your body, or place your hands on either side of your head.
- Stay in this position, concentrating on your breathing.
Inhale slowly for 5 seconds, exhale slowly for 5 seconds (optional: hold your breath for a few seconds after exhaling).
The aim is to let your body adapt naturally to the cervical cushion, a sign of effective cervical decompression.
Recommended duration of use: 10 minutes. Adjust this time downwards or upwards depending on how you feel.
Using the heated cover :
- Connect the case's USB cable to the plug adapter supplied and then to an electrical socket, or directly to a computer or external battery.
- The cover has a single control button on its cable.
By default, it comes on at the highest temperature.
Press the button to change the temperature.
- To switch off the heating mode, press the button repeatedly until the indicator light goes out.
You can press and hold the button to program the heater to stop automatically after 30 minutes.
Once programmed, the indicator light will flash.
